I know someone who owns a plane in the Cleveland area. Perhaps we could get him to fly a banner past the north shore of Lake Erie that reads www.clevelandsa.com

In my reflection of the 2007 sports season for Ohio, I'm hoping that the Browns missing the playoffs was simply the end of a brutal year of missed opportunities. I know for the most part we should be happy about the progress made, and the 2008 outlook, but as the Cavs sit below .500, the Indians lack of free agent signings, and the constant worry the Browns may implode at any time...it's hard for me to be optimistic. That being said, I hope we make the smartest possible decision we can with the whole DA/Brady/Draft Pick situation, and that we can be a better franchise because of it.

Here's to wishing all of you a rewarding 2008, hopefully kicked off by a victory for the Buckeyes next Monday.

Awesome post, a few thoughts.

Todd Grantham-He needs to go or have don't use prevent defense beat into him.

Daven Holly-Please don't resign this guy, the guy couldn't cover a bed with a blanket.

JLewis-We know where I sit on this, 2 years around with a slight pay increase.

Tim Carter-Let him go sign with the Titans, Falcons, Dolphins or wherever else he may land.

Finally, DA. Yes, it should be a one year dear for the first and third round tender range. Anything below a top five pick I would counter with as we can always trade him later. If it is a top five pick you have to make the move. Yes, DA played well this year but we don't know if it was a fluke or not. The defense has some needs, needs that would be easily filled with a top five pick.

leej-Thanks for the comment. Whatever happens with the QBs, I have a feeling for better or worse it will be the decision that dictates the direction of the team's future. Stressful decision on Savage's part.

Chuck-I'm not blaming the Colts...they have to do what's best for themselves. I'm just saying in the big picture, it ended up being somewhat unfair to the Browns in that they had to play 16 opponents instead of 15 1/2. But much like life, the NFL isn't always fair. It's the way it goes, and so be it. Thanks for commenting.

Simply an awesome post. The only thing I have to call you on is for blasting the Colts. I mean think about it, if the Browns were in the same boat, would you expect them to play at 100% and risk the big prize on an otherwise meaningless game? As much as it pissed me off to watch them tank the game and give a free ride to Tennesee, it really does fall on the backs of the Browns. All they had to do was beat 1 of 2 cream puff teams, and they didn't.
But I must say that if I had the email address of anyone in the Browns' front office, I'd guarantee you that I would be emailing them a link right now. Keep up the great work!
